AGGIDIA-INFO
The southwest foot of the hill of Chrysostom, three kilometers from the town of Naxos, is built pretty little village Agidia. Amphitheatrically the hill, with the whitewashed church of Agios Charalambos, the village overlooks the front of the fruitful valley of meadows and far beyond the town and the blue sea.
There are about 300 inhabitants, who in farming, agriculture and viticulture.
The road-AGIDIA Naxos is full of ancient and medieval monuments that testify and old history.
Such monuments are the old monastery "mean Fraro", which has been erected in the 14th century AD and played a significant role in the lives of the Venetian town, the ancient aqueduct Lygdami, a medieval fountain, ruins of an early Christian church of Agios Stefanos, Venetian towers, "embraced" all the mist of legend and tradition.
Many testify that this area was from ancient times the "countryside" of the rulers of the city (Hora).
